Local Massage & Fitness Pro Tours Shoots Commercial Series & Supports Go Red For Women!

STUART, FL. – Debbbie Roberts, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), and owner of Massage & Fitness Professionals of the Treasure Coast, recently returned from New Freedom, Pennsylvania to tape a commercial for Oakworks Table Company. Roberts had accepted this honor in order to become a part of the company’s educational series. Massage Therapists will be able to go to www.Oakworks.com and click on different educators for some quick tips.

Roberts, a personal trainer and group exercise leader for over 27 years, created a 3-part signature system to help LMT’s with assessment, multiple treatment modalities, and muscle stabilization. Roberts helps therapists learn how to assess soft tissue involvement for shoulder impingement, bursitis, tendonitis, and partial tears of the rotator cuff. This systematic approach helps massage therapists have a more measurable outcome to their clinical massage.

The commercial contained quick tips on Quadratus Lumborum, IT Band Syndrome, Piriformis and Lateral Hip Rotators, and Stretching the upper pecs using the Proluxe System and Side Lying Positioning System. Roberts was given a tour of the factory where they still make the tables here in the United States! Additionally, Oakworks Table Company plants a tree for every one that they cut down. Since 1977, Oakworks Table Company has been committed to the customer, the larger community, and the planet. In the formative years, Oakworks Table Company supported educational outreach programs in Organic Gardening and Solar Energy. Today Oakworks Table Company continues that tradition in reducing their impact on the environment and supporting organizations that maximize their positive impact on society. Oakworks Table Company is a Global Cooling Partner with Trees for the Future and with them has neutralized their carbon footprint on the world. Oakworks Table Company’s “Our Comfort That Cares” campaign supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation and their work of education and research for a cure. Other organizations supported by Oakworks include the United Way, Special Olympics, and Shadowfax (a sheltered workshop for individuals with disabilities) whose workers compile many of the marketing materials and samples you receive. Finally, Oakworks Table Company also supports the Massage Foundation, the Green Spa Network, and the Touch Research Institute in their efforts to advance the integrative health profession. Massage is recognized by many insurance companies yet does require a physician’s prescription in order to file for reimbursement. Massage is an excellent adjunct to physical therapy, chiropractic, or osteopathic care.

Robert’s motto: “If you don’t assess you simply guess.”

Step #1 Assessment: Assessment protocols for the upper extremity.

Step # 2 Treatment: This is a hands-on treatment for myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, muscle energy, and contrast therapy.

Step #3 Muscle Stabilization: This is the best part! Based on steps #1 and #2, ATM technique therapists understand which muscles to stabilize for the best possible outcome for the patient.

Debbie Roberts, LMT is the innovator of the Assessment, Treatment, & Muscle Stabilization (ATM) Technique™. An international author and speaker, she is the founder of Debbie Roberts Seminars, a CEU program providing continuing education for massage therapists and personal trainers who want to reach their full potential in their chosen fields. Certified though the National Board of Massage and the Florida Board of Massage, Roberts is best known for her unparalleled understanding of the anatomy of an injury and her focus on assessment and treatment plans designed to facilitate a client’s form and function.
